mmm presents “Spectrum Genius Studio” (SGS) for Lighting Passport at METS Trade

At this year’s METS mobile, media &more are presenting a new, sophisticated and enhanced application: the “Spectrum Genius Studio” (SGS) app for iPad. The LED experts mobile, media &more will demonstrate the new add-on to the Asensetek Lighting Passport Spectrometer in the SuperYacht Pavilion (Hall 10.111).

METS, the world’s largest marine equipment trade show, will start in Amsterdam on November 17, 2015.

The Asensetek Lighting Passport Spectrometer – marketed exclusively by mmm within the marine industry since 2014 – will boost performance with the newly developed app: The Spektrum Genius Studio SGS app now displays lighting measurement data in the Television Lighting Consistency Index (TLCI) format.

The new SGS app for iPad was originally developed for the film and TV industries, where lighting engineers, producers and colorists use the so-called Television Lighting Consistency Index (TLCI). The TLCI index has been recommended as a standard by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) since 2012.

The high-precision TLCI measuring system will have a considerable impact on the lighting standards in the superyacht sector. Using the combination of Lighting Passport Spectrometer und SGS App, LED manufacturers, planners and developers will be enabled to improve LED components, color fidelity and color space and sophisticated lighting solutions.

The Lighting Passport Spectrometer transfers the TLCI measurement data to the iPad via the SGS app with a high degree of clarity, enabling the information to be visualized and evaluated in a results-oriented manner. In a second step, the data is stored for subsequent comparisons or else mailed to customers, colleagues or service providers via a Bluetooth connection.

The Asensetek Lighting Passport Spectrometer is a must-have tool for everyone who works professionally with light in a studio or in the yachting industry. The spectrometer weighs just under 60 grams and will receive regular no-cost SGS app updates.
